Wardrobe organising

Organising scarves and hats and gloves is something we girls (and some boys) think about. Now that I have the space in my bedroom to even THINK about organising them instead of throwing the into a basket box and stuffing into the corner of the badly-planned built in...

Ikea is the current winner. At only $10, the Komplement is the easiest choice to organise scarves, gloves and hats. But it's bulky in the small boxy walk-in robe. And when they are all in the organiser hanging next to my clothes, it looks... kinda unorganised!

I am thinking about getting a vintage ladder... since a organiser tray takes up valuable space for folded clothes.

Any ideas? What do you do?

New Home: Hannah

So, we have painted, washed, wiped, cleaned, painted and painted.
First room up is Hannah's room.

First design disaster: every darn thing in the house was the same colour. The wall tiles, doorknobs, toilet seat, architraves, trim, doors, splashback, floor tiles, carpet, bathtub and shower stall. Yucky beige.

We've painted the living room (still painting and trying to decide on furniture and artwork so not quite ready for reveal yet).. and Hannah's room.

It feels wonderful that there is now ONE room 90% completed.
(Still have to paint the doors and window trim)

Before:

After:
Secret: I've NEVER held a roller brush before. And only paintbrushes to furniture and craft. So family were shocked that I'd chosen a very strong colour. But I stuck to my guns... and after two coats of Chilled Wine (a purply red) by Haymes Paint:

I actually love this room. Everytime I pass the room in the hallway, the warmth invites me in. :)

I found it!

The cable!

Can't find the damn camera cable!

But am looking hard so I can put up photos of H's redone room!! :)

The trouble (and beauty) with white...

Redmond Aldrich Design

I love white walls. The rooms can be sooooo versatile.

The trouble? Having cream wall to wall carpet. Doesn't really go, does it? (Thinking about paint for the living room of our new house.) We can't afford to get rid of the carpets and frankly, Melbourne weather calls for it... anything to insulate in the heat!

But I do love white walls... and for some eye candy:
I chose these ones also to show how different white rooms can feel...

I had thought and discussed dark chocolate walls for this space... But I am seriously thinking pristine white now...

Inspiration: Anna Spiro's office

I had to post this... it's so inspiring for me... copycat-inspiring! And the husband is OK with it (nearly knocked me off my chair!)...

I know, I know... thus far I've been harping on about a yellow and white office. But man. Anna Spiro's office at Black and Spiro actually makes my spine tingle! So... warm yet friendly yet luscious... even though it's clearly not the first choice for a male-dominated room, neither is it all that pinky-feminine-chic per se!

Chair done!

You'll remember my office chair and the long process to get it redone. Some of you mentioned the original looked way too shabby to be chic.
